Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kazushi Nakamura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Teddy Bear!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Steve Montenegro and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nakamura shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Nakamura was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Nakamura fails to take his opponent's back.
Bear swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Bear defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Nakamura.
Nakamura jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Bear is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Bear and Nakamura has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Bear tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Nakamura wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Bear is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nakamura is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Bear has escaped the position, nice work there.
Nakamura working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Nakamura working away.
Bear tries to buck Nakamura off but Nakamura is having none of it.
Bear is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Nakamura has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Nakamura looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Nakamura wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bear, who protects the arm well.
Nakamura is breathing heavily.
Bear is looking for a sweep.
Nakamura working away.
Bear wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Bear tries to clinch there but Nakamura circles away.
Bear misses with a takedown attempt
and Nakamura counters with a nice double leg into side control. Bear won't be happy with that.
Bear avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Nakamura.
Nakamura tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Nakamura has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Bear tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Nakamura working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Bear has given up his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bear has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Nakamura.
Nakamura looking for the choke but no joy.
Bear trying to control the hands but Nakamura breaks the grip.
Nakamura sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Bear taps out!
