Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dwight Howard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Hobbs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howard misses with a body shot.

Hobbs has closed the distance and engaged Howard in a clinch.
The referee calls for Hobbs to work.
A short right from Hobbs on the inside.
Hobbs misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Hobbs tries a body shot but Howard blocks it.
Howard's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Howard using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Hobbs has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Hobbs swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Hobbs blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Hobbs takes an elbow to the forehead.

It looks like Luke Hobbs has been cut.
Howard lands an elbow inside.
Hobbs softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Hobbs drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Howard breaks the clinch.
Howard moves out of range of the strikes.

Hobbs jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Hobbs moves out of range as Howard strikes.
Dwight Howard is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Howard moves away from the strike by Hobbs.
Howard throws a looping overhand right but Hobbs ducks down to avoid it.
Hobbs checks the leg kick.
Howard lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Hobbs slips a straight right by Howard.
Howard gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Hobbs misses with a wild body shot.
Hobbs looks to land a right hand but Howard moved out of range.
Good leg kick by Howard there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Howard scores with a nice right hand.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Howard uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hobbs.
Howard thows a body shot but no joy.

Howard lands with a thumping leg kick.
Howard lands a head kick!
Howard scores with a hook to the body. Hobbs takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
A jab from Hobbs does it's job there.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Howard - that will leave a mark!
Howard throws a shot to the body.
Howard lands a leg kick that knocks Hobbs off balance momentarily.
Howard fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Hobbs crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Howard - the referee stops the clock and Hobbs gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Howard. Hobbs manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Hobbs looks winded!
Hobbs keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Hobbs with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Howard to score with a decent uppercut.
Howard catches Hobbs with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Howard connects with a jab.

Danga de danga de dang - Hobbs scores with a four punch combination!
Hobbs ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Hobbs lands a head shot.
Howard throws a nice inside leg kick.
Hobbs throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Howard stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Dwight Howard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hobbs tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Howard paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A head kick from Howard lands but Hobbs takes it in his stride.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hobbs takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Howard's corner calls for a 1-2. Howard obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Howard throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Hobbs on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Howard. Howard obviously looking to wear him down.
Some wild striking there from Hobbs.
Hobbs takes a swing at Howard's ribcage but misses.

Howard lands a big head kick that sends Hobbs tumbling to the mat! Howard takes a step backwards and waves Hobbs back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Hobbs is rocked!
Hobbs misses with a body shot.
Hobbs walks forward, straight into a front kick from Howard.
Hobbs swings for the body but Howard moves out of range.
Hobbs is keeping his hands low and just asking to be knocked out. Howard Raises his leg and lands a stunning axe kick! Hobbs is out cold, face down on the mat!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Dwight Howard!
Dwight Howard tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
