The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howard throws a right and a left that Rivera avoids nicely.
Rivera lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Howard avoids the body shot from Rivera.
Howard shoots in for a takedown but Rivera shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Rivera swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Rivera defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Howard.

Rivera scores with a nice strike.
Rivera lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Howard shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rivera sprawls well. Rivera wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Howard gets slowly back to his feet.
Juancho Rivera has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dwayne Howard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rivera moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

It looks like Juancho Rivera has been cut.
Rivera lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Howard takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Rivera throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Juancho Rivera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rivera dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A telegraphed right hand from Rivera misses the target.
Howard shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rivera but Rivera pushes him off and we're back to square one.
A nice leg kick lands there from Rivera.
Howard takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Howard takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Rivera thuds a left hand into Howard's body.
Rivera cracks Howard with a good jab.

Rivera throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Howard tries to bum rush Rivera with a series of wild strikes but Rivera uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Howard has a takedown stuffed.
Howard closes the distance and clinches up with Rivera, looking for a takedown. Howard pushes Rivera against the cage but Rivera circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Howard looks winded!
Howard throws a right and a left that Rivera avoids nicely.

Rivera lands a nice shot that snaps Howard's head back.

Rivera comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Rivera tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Howard was well out of range. Poor timing from Rivera.
Rivera feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Howard's calf.

Rivera bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Howard's head backwards.
Rivera scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Howard uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rivera.
Howard takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Howard has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Howard there as he acknowledges the shot.

Howard is rocked!
Rivera pounces like a tiger and cracks Howard with a vicious hook! Howard is down but not out! Rivera follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
