Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jay Houk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ash Lizard!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Ryoma Takatsuka and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Houk changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lizard tries to avoid it but Houk manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lizard to the ground. Lizard escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Houk misses with a takedown
and Lizard counters with a shoot takedown. Houk fights it but they end up in guard.
Lizard would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Lizard passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Houk is looking to reverse the position.
Lizard is working to tighten is grip on Houk's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Houk has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Lizard is really squeezing tight and eventually Houk passes out! Lizard breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
