The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nowak moves out of range of the leg kick from Wakefield.
Wakefield throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Nowak lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Wakefield throws the left hand but Nowak avoids the punch easily.
Wakefield keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Nowak takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Nowak gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Wakefield.
Nowak tries to land a front kick but Wakefield steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Wakefield jabs Nowak right on the nose. Nowak blinks but takes it well.

Nowak is rocked!
Wakefield lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Nowak at a distance.
Oh Nowak is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Wakefield throws a sloppy head kick and Nowak moves out of range easily.
Nowak seems to have got his legs back now.

Dean Wakefield seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Wakefield cracks Nowak with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Nowak tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Wakefield pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Nowak is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
