PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Wanna Tuchit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hiroyuki Matsuda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Wanna Tuchit!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hiroyuki Matsuda!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shirou Masuda and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matsuda shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Tuchit counters with a solid body kick.

Tuchit bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Matsuda tries to strike but it doesn't land.
Matsuda is not content to let Tuchit control the position.
Tuchit will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Matsuda struggling a bit here.
Matsuda might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Tuchit haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Matsuda is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Matsuda throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Matsuda wants to improve his position but Tuchit is controlling well.

Matsuda gets back to full guard.
Tuchit is looking to stand up but Matsuda won't let him.
Matsuda looking for a sweep. Not yet Matsuda, not yet.
Tuchit wants to control from the top but Matsuda keeps moving.
Matsuda seems keen to control Tuchit's posture.
Matsuda trying to keep a closed guard but Tuchit is proving a slippery customer.

Matsuda working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Tuchit doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Tuchit manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Matsuda is on top in guard.
Matsuda pushes down on Tuchit's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Tuchit knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Matsuda on the ground.
Tuchit is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Tuchit is working hard here to advance position.

Tuchit with the active half guard here but Matsuda passes nicely into side control.

Tuchit is trying to escape the position but Matsuda is controlling the position.

Matsuda stands up and beckons Tuchit to his feet.
Matsuda shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Tuchit as he jumps to the side.

Matsuda wants to clinch.
Matsuda tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Tuchit manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Matsuda shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Tuchit but Tuchit pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Wanna Tuchit has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hiroyuki Matsuda.

Matsuda looks winded!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Matsuda stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Matsuda wants it to stay on the feet.

Tuchit shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Matsuda defends it nicely.

Matsuda takes the fight into the clinch.
Matsuda tries to pull guard but Tuchit won't allow it.

Matsuda escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
No luck for Matsuda with that takedown attempt.
Matsuda fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Wanna Tuchit has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hiroyuki Matsuda.
Tuchit slaps away a takedown attempt from Matsuda, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Tuchit throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Matsuda counters with a stiff right hand.

Tuchit changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Matsuda tries to avoid it but Tuchit manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Matsuda to the ground. Matsuda escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Tuchit closes the distance and clinches.
Matsuda slows down the pace here.
Tuchit tries to pull guard but Matsuda won't allow it.
Tuchit jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Matsuda walks away with a smile on his face. Tuchit gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Nice sprawl there from Matsuda as Tuchit shoots in.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Matsuda rushes Tuchit and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Matsuda stalling the fight.
Tuchit tries to pull guard but Matsuda won't allow it.
Matsuda lands an elbow inside.

A nice glancing elbow lands by Matsuda.
Tuchit has had enough of the clinch but Matsuda keeps him there for the moment.

Matsuda gets control of Tuchit's arms and successfully pulls guard. Matsuda will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Matsuda pulls Tuchit in close to prevent any damage.

Matsuda pushes Tuchit off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Matsuda is defended easily by Tuchit.
Tuchit tried to score with a low kick but Matsuda checks it.

Tuchit blocks a head kick by Matsuda.
Tuchit fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Tuchit stuffs the takedown.
Matsuda moves in looking to clinch but Tuchit pushes him off.
Matsuda shoots in looking for a takedown. Tuchit tries to sprawl out of it but Matsuda keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Tuchit manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Matsuda slips a jab and a cross from Tuchit.

Tuchit looks for a takedown but Matsuda sprawls well.
Nice body kick there by Matsuda.

Matsuda rushes Tuchit and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Matsuda breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Matsuda lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Nice sprawl there from Tuchit as Matsuda shoots in.

Tuchit takes the fight into the clinch.

Matsuda has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Tuchit avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Tuchit jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Matsuda walks away with a smile on his face. Tuchit gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hiroyuki Matsuda showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!


Tuchit shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Matsuda sprawls well. Matsuda wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Tuchit gets slowly back to his feet.

Tuchit goes for a takedown attempt but Matsuda pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Matsuda is looking to clinch but Tuchit is avoiding it.

Matsuda creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Tuchit's defenses.

Matsuda is working for takedown but Tuchit is calmly controlling the position for now.

Matsuda breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Matsuda is defended easily by Tuchit.
Matsuda shoots in looking for a takedown but Tuchit manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Matsuda's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Tuchit misses with a takedown attempt - Matsuda sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Matsuda drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Tuchit gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Tuchit is trying to force a seperation but Matsuda has the dominant position.
Tuchit trying to stall but Matsuda improves his position.

Matsuda ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Matsuda no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Matsuda throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Matsuda is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Hiroyuki Matsuda comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Matsuda has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
