Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lew Alcindor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Namba Babakla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alcindor kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is could you be loved by Bob Marley. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Babakla. No joy for Alcindor on that attempt.
Alcindor dives in and grabs Babakla's left leg, looking for a takedown. Babakla pushes down on Alcindor's head and hops out.
Babakla fails with the takedown.
Babakla looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Alcindor is fending him off so far but Babakla persists. Nope, Alcindor circles away and we're back to standing.
Alcindor shoots in for a takedown but Babakla shows good takedown defense.

Lew Alcindor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Namba Babakla was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Alcindor closes the distance and clinches.
Babakla jumps guard but Alcindor stands there with Babakla around his waist. Babakla gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Babakla doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Babakla swings wildly with an uppercut but Alcindor uses good head movement to avoid it.
Babakla trying to control the position but instead, Alcindor has worked for underhooks and has pushed Babakla into the cage.
Alcindor goes for a takedown attempt but Babakla pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Alcindor changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Babakla looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Alcindor has hold of Babakla's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Babakla seems comfortable defending it but Alcindor has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Babakla is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Babakla is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Alcindor couldn't care less - he's delighted!
