Easton has chosen Tech N9ne The Beast (Uncensored) as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Cody Easton has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with IP Freely's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freely shoots in looking for a takedown. Easton tries to sprawl out of it but Freely keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Easton manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Easton throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Easton pivots, looking for a leg kick but Freely is out of range and Easton settles back down.
Freely shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Easton defends it nicely.

Freely avoids a punch combination nicely.

Freely shoots in for a takedown but Easton shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Freely shoots for a double leg takedown but Easton sprawls well. He's pushed Freely's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Freely fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Easton sprawls well initially but Freely persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Freely is looking to take a break and control but Easton is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Freely has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Freely slips a nice elbow through Easton's hands, connecting with Easton's forehead.

Easton tries to lock up and control but Freely gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Easton really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Freely. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Easton can do anything to dispel that myth.
Easton takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Easton seems to have recovered his senses.
Freely is trying to take his opponent's back.
Freely tries to control but Easton wriggling away.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Freely working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

Freely has hold of Easton's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Easton manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Freely swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
