Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Edmundo Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeffson Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Gracie's choice of entrance music: Cliff Richard - Summer Holiday. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Edmundo Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jeffson Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Thiago Cunha and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Jr or perhaps it was just good defense by Gracie which made him look bad.
Jr blocks a jab.
Jr shoots in but Gracie avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Gracie misses with a leg kick.
Edmundo Jr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jr.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Edmundo Jr. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jr takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Jr shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
letting Gracie counter with a right hand.

Gracie escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jr displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gracie.
Jr tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gracie was well out of range. Poor timing from Jr.
Gracie is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jr.
Gracie connects with a good right hand that stumbles Jr. Jr circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Gracie closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Gracie escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Nice takedown defense from Gracie. No joy for Jr on that attempt.
Jr looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Jr shoots in but no luck this time.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Gracie bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jr's guard.
Gracie wants to pass the guard but Jr is keeping the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Gracie lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Gracie.
Gracie tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jr swivels and escapes.

Jr shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Gracie napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Jr is looking to take a break and control but Gracie is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Jr looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Gracie with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Gracie goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Jr turns into him and now he's in Gracie's guard.

Gracie has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jr can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

A very excited looking Edmundo Jr rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
