The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sapp shoots for a double leg takedown but Newsome sprawls well. He's pushed Sapp's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
The fighters circling - Sapp throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Sapp closes the distance and clinches up with Newsome, looking for a takedown. Sapp pushes Newsome against the cage but Newsome circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Sapp gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Newsome stops a takedown attempt from Sapp.
