Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan Bond (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Logan Axe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Logan Axe will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jonathan Bond!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Logan Axe!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Yves DeLean and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bond rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Axe moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Axe chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Axe scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Axe buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Logan Axe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bond is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Axe wants to clinch up but Bond keeps it at a distance.
Bond could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Axe fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bond sprawls well initially but Axe persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Axe is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Bond controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.

Bond actively working from the bottom here.
Bond is looking to improve his position.
Bond trying to hold on to Axe's head to control him but Axe postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bond is doing well to control the position and prevent Axe from advancing to side control.
Bond works his way to full guard. Good work.
Bond manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Axe manages to get himself to full guard.
Bond is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

We're going to have a standup here because Jonathan Bond wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Axe tries to clinch up but Bond circles away and keeps his distance.
Axe tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bond swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Bond swats away the attempt to clinch by Axe.
Axe tries to clinch up but Bond circles away and keeps his distance.
Bond fails to land the takedown.
Axe checks a low kick from Bond.

Axe tries to clinch but Bond is having none of it.
Axe wants to clinch.

Bond fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Axe to the ground. Bond is now in Axe's guard.
Axe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bond. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Bond gets to his feet. Axe looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Bond throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Axe tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Bond is in Axe's guard.
Bond is stalling in the full guard.

Bond stands up and waves to Axe to follow him.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Axe closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bond gets full guard.

Bond pushes Axe off and scrambles back to his feet.
Nice sprawl there from Axe as Bond shoots in.
Axe lands with a thumping leg kick.

Bond fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Axe to the ground. Bond is now in Axe's guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bond passes Axe's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Bond is figuring out what he wants to do next.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jonathan Bond will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!


Axe looks to clinch

and Bond counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Axe!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Bond is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Axe has escaped the position, nice work there.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Bond has hold of Axe's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Axe seems comfortable defending it but Bond has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Axe is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Axe is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Bond couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jonathan Bond!
