Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Timo Tamppooni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pebble Braithweight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tamppooni's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Revelations. Braithweight has chosen 300 violin as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Timo Tamppooni!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Pebble Braithweight!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Colin Fotheringham and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tamppooni shoots in and bounces Braithweight off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Braithweight not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Braithweight has his foot on Tamppooni's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tamppooni works his way back into a safe position though.
Tamppooni avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Tamppooni wants to stand but Braithweight is controlling his posture from full guard.
Braithweight striking off his back but it's not causing Tamppooni any problems.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Braithweight has his foot on Tamppooni's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tamppooni works his way back into a safe position though.
Braithweight throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Tamppooni escapes and throws Braithweight's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Braithweight sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Braithweight is looking for a sweep. Tamppooni is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Braithweight is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Braithweight looking for submissions off his back.
Braithweight scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Tamppooni manages to mount him!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Pebble Braithweight will probably get the nod.

and Tamppooni counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Braithweight is looking to improve his position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Tamppooni decides to stand and escape the position.
Tamppooni with a lazy takedown attempt
and Braithweight counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Braithweight wants to get up but he can't break Tamppooni's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Braithweight is breathing heavily.
Braithweight stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tamppooni swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Braithweight decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Tamppooni, up you get!

Braithweight throws a jab but it's blocked by Tamppooni.
Tamppooni with a lazy takedown attempt
and Braithweight connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Tamppooni doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Braithweight counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Timo Tamppooni. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Braithweight throws the left hand but Tamppooni avoids the punch easily.

Tamppooni takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Braithweight misses with a combination
so Tamppooni counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Timo Tamppooni overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Braithweight manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Tamppooni manages to get himself to full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Braithweight drops back, looking for a kneebar! Tamppooni looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Tamppooni looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Tamppooni!

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Tamppooni stands up from mount. Strange move.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Timo Tamppooni.
I think Braithweight has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
