Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mick Bower!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Randle Floyd!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Dean Styles and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bower clinches up with Floyd and pushes him back against the cage.
Bower wants a takedown.
Bower prevents a takedown attempt there.

Floyd gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Floyd wants to get back to his feet.
Bower knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Floyd on the ground.
Bower is looking to improve his position.
Bower is working hard here to advance position.
Floyd tries to stand and escape but Bower is controlling the position.
Bower wants to get back to full guard.
Bower trying to control but Floyd postures up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Bower keeps the fight on the outside.
Bower scores with a three punch combo!
Bower wants to clinch up but Floyd keeps it at a distance.
Floyd shoots for a takedown but Bower saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Floyd looks gassed!
A left and a right from Bower both land. Nice combination.
Bower really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Bower scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Bower in side control lands a decent elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Floyd prevents Bower from moving into mount.
Bower lands some shots froms side control.
Floyd tries to bench press Bower off him but Bower keeps the position.

Bower is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Floyd is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Bower wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Floyd, who protects the arm well.
Floyd is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Bower's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bower looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Bower thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Floyd to regain full guard.
Bower would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Bower preventing the sweep.
Floyd can't keep his opponent in guard - Bower advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Floyd manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Bower drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Floyd is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Bower off and has taken his back!
Bower is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Bower is trying to break free.
Floyd is landing with strikes from the back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Floyd is trying to stick to Bower's back but Bower is turning into Floyd. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Floyd's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Bower.
Bower is working Floyd over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Floyd trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Floyd looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bower is one step ahead there.
Floyd throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Bower stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Floyd swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Bower shoots and misses

and Floyd counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Floyd is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Bower gets back to full guard.
Floyd makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Bower wants to sweep but no luck.
Bower is trying to control the position but Floyd postures up.
Bower is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Floyd gets caught flat footed, as Bower shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Mick Bower will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Nice takedown defense from Bower. No joy for Floyd on that attempt.
Floyd shoots in looking for a takedown. Bower tries to sprawl out of it but Floyd keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bower manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Bower is looking to clinch.

Bower drives through with a takedown into guard.
Bower is in close to Floyd's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Bower distracts Floyd with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Floyd escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bower gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Bower lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Floyd looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Bower is defending well. Floyd quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Bower has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Floyd celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:02 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Randle Floyd!
