The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Swano tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Powell manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Swano looks to throw the jab but Powell is out of range.
Powell tries to bum rush Swano with a series of wild strikes but Swano uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Dan Swano seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Powell throws out a loose jab but Swano uses good head movement to avoid it.

Powell changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Swano tries to avoid it but Powell manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Swano to the ground. Swano escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Geoffrey Powell.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Powell, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
