Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Yushi Tatizu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jermaine Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yushi Tatizu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jermaine Cruz!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cruz blocks a low kick nicely.
Tatizu could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Tatizu takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Tatizu fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cruz avoids it really well and circles away.
Tatizu shoots in for a takedown but Cruz shows good takedown defense.
Tatizu tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Cruz counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Tatizu tries a head kick but it misses.
Cruz slaps away a takedown attempt from Tatizu, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yushi Tatizu. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Tatizu moves into the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Cruz escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Tatizu throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cruz's waist but Cruz gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Tatizu off to one side.

and Cruz counters with a lovely straight right hand!
It looks like Yushi Tatizu has been cut.
Tatizu tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cruz swivels and escapes.
Tatizu misses with a takedown attempt - Cruz sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Cruz with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Tatizu is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cruz scores with the left hand. Tatizu knows he should have avoided that one.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cruz is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Tatizu hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jermaine Cruz!
