The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Easterlund instigates a clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Easterlund's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Cat lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Easterlund tries to work over Cat's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Cat is leaning against Easterlund and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Cat breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Easterlund throws a combination that misses
and Cat counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Cat ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Easterlund takes a swing at Cat's ribcage but misses.
Easterlund avoids the body shot from Cat.

and Cat counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Easterlund tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cat paws at him with a jab and circles away.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Easterlund throws a right and a left that Cat avoids nicely.

Easterlund stalks Cat and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Cat's face. Cat staggers backwards, shaken.
Easterlund tries to clinch but Cat moves out of range.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Easterlund scores with a one two! Cat had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Easterlund throws a series of punches but Cat avoids them all with ease.

Cat gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Easterlund.

Easterlund throws a right and a left that Cat avoids nicely.

Cat lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Easterlund is still on wobbly legs! Can Cat finish him?
Cat is looking to slow Easterlund down with leg kicks.
Cat lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Easterlund up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Cat from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Easterlund's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

Cold Cat is the new middleweight champion!
After winning the bout, Cold Cat thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
