Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

17 - 13 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gray Son!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Donatello Bradman and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Son throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Lopez's head.
Son misses with a hook. Lopez ducked under it nicely.
Lopez darts in trying to clinch
and Son counters with a leg kick.
Lopez misses with a hook
and Son counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Son throws a leg kick which misses Lopez's front leg but catches the back leg as Lopez tries to avoid it.
Son misses with a straight right.
Lopez closes the distance and clinches.
Lopez tries for a takedown. No joy.
Lopez tries to stall but Son uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Lopez is trying to drag Son to the mat but Son just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Alberto Lopez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lopez drives through with a takedown into Son's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Lopez is looking to work some ground and pound but Son has wrist control.
Son bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lopez's guard.
Lopez throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Son escapes and throws Lopez's legs to the side, diving into side control!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Son tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Son tries to move to mount but Lopez blocks the move with his legs.
Lopez tries to bench press Son off him but Son keeps the position.
Son has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Son can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Lopez is looking to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lopez wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lopez avoids the strikes from Son.
Lopez is in bad spot here.
Lopez turns into Son and is now in his guard.
Son controls Lopez momentarily but Lopez frees himself.
Son pulls Lopez in to control the position.
Son wants to sweep here but Lopez controlling him for the moment.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lopez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Lopez in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Gray Son was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Son throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Lopez misses with a hook.
Lopez gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Son holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alberto Lopez. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Son tries to throw a body punch but Lopez avoids it by throwing Son back against the cage.

Lopez's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Lopez shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Son defends it nicely.
Lopez takes one on the button.
Son thumps Lopez with a low kick.
Lopez misses the jab.
Lopez slips under a jab from Son.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lopez throws a jab but it's blocked by Son.
Lopez is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Lopez walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

enabling Son to counter with a crisp jab.
Lopez is rocked!
Lopez gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Son gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gray Son!
After winning the bout, Gray Son thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
