PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pinky Pebbles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michaud Korrs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michaud Korrs!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and Gwen Towbar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Korrs lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pebbles circles away quickly and effectively.
Korrs throws a head kick that misses.

and Pebbles counters with a stiff right hand.

Pebbles breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Korrs keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Pebbles throws out a leg kick but Korrs moves out of range and Pebbles only half commits.
Pebbles shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Korrs but Korrs pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Korrs is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Korrs dives in and grabs Pebbles's left leg, looking for a takedown. Pebbles pushes down on Korrs's head and hops out.
Korrs throws a low kick but it's checked well by Pebbles.

Pebbles closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Korrs's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Pebbles is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Korrs utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Pebbles's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Pinky Pebbles just wasn't active enough.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Pinky Pebbles.

and Pebbles holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Pebbles blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Pebbles jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Korrs walks away with a smile on his face. Pebbles gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Pebbles shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Korrs as he avoids it easily.

Korrs throws a sloppy head kick and Pebbles moves out of range easily.
Korrs tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pebbles swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Pebbles drives through and clinches with Korrs against the cage.
Korrs has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Korrs wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Pebbles wants to take the fight to the mat but Korrs manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Korrs is trying to pull guard but Pebbles turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Pebbles has had enough of the clinch but Korrs keeps him there for the moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Michaud Korrs showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
