PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dilan Rossi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Pettis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rossi comes to the cage accompanied by Never Surrender by Lion. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pettis pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rossi swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Pettis tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Rossi tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Pettis was well out of range. Poor timing from Rossi.
Pettis misses with a head kick.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Pettis tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Rossi smiles and moves away.

The fighters circling - Rossi throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

That kick from Pettis tenderised Rossi's leg. Rossi is trying to keep his angry face on.

Pettis goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

It looks like Dilan Rossi has been cut.
Pettis throws a sloppy head kick and Rossi moves out of range easily.

Pettis looks for the body kick but Rossi saw that one coming.

Rossi tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Pettis was well out of range. Poor timing from Rossi.

Rossi fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Pettis , pushing him back against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Pettis wants a takedown but no success here.
Rossi lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Pettis drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Rossi gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Pettis is trying to drag Rossi to the mat but Rossi just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Rossi pushes Pettis back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Pettis tries to pull guard but Rossi holds him up against the cage and eventually Pettis drops back down to his feet.

Pettis jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rossi walks away with a smile on his face. Pettis gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

A looping hook to the body misses from Rossi. Pettis does a little dance to reset his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Pettis changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Rossi fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Rossi looks to score with a jab to the body but Pettis is just out of range.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Rossi catches Pettis with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Pettis lands with a kick to the temple. Rossi shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Rossi walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Pettis drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Rossi swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Pettis 's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dilan Rossi!
Dilan Rossi decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
