Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Viktor Seregeily (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mario Hawk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mario Hawk is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Viktor Seregeily!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mario Hawk!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Saam Ante and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawk delivers a nice body kick.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Hawk.

Hawk bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Hawk trying to control the action but Seregeily is working from the bottom.

Hawk tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Hawk wants to stand but Seregeily has his arm trapped.

Hawk is staying tight to Seregeily's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Seregeily struggling a bit here.
Seregeily is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Seregeily wants to get back to full guard.
Seregeily wants to control but Hawk is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Seregeily wants to improve his position but Hawk is controlling well.
Hawk takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hawk leaves Seregeily with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Hawk is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Seregeily is breathing heavily.

Hawk moves into the clinch.

Hawk lands a shot to the body.

Hawk gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Hawk is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Seregeily keeping full guard, as Hawk tries to pass.
Hawk tries to stand but Seregeily is controlling from the bottom.
Seregeily bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hawk's guard.

Seregeily pushes down on Hawk's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Hawk has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Seregeily is working away from the top position though.

Hawk wants to control but Seregeily is keeping busy.

Seregeily looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Hawk changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Seregeily looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Seregeily struggling a bit here.
Seregeily is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Hawk is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hawk is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Seregeily is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Seregeily is looking for a sweep.

Seregeily struggling a bit here.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Seregeily manages to work his way to half guard, despite Hawk's best efforts.
Seregeily wants to get back to full guard.

Hawk seems to be working for a kimura but Seregeily defends the submission attempt.
Hawk wants to control but Seregeily is keeping him busy.

Hawk wants to stand up but Seregeily has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Seregeily trying to hold on to Hawk's head to control him but Hawk postures up.
Hawk throwing shots but Seregeily is blocking nicely.
Hawk not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Seregeily might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Mario Hawk has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Hawk connects with a good right hand that stumbles Seregeily. Seregeily circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Hawk moves into the clinch.
Seregeily wants a takedown but no success here.

Hawk gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Seregeily regains guard.
Hawk wanted to stand there but Seregeily had control of the position.
Hawk content to stall in guard here.
Hawk trying to control but Seregeily is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Mario Hawk wasn't active enough on the ground.

Hawk closes the distance and pushes Seregeily back into the cage.

Hawk is trying to trip Seregeily. He has hold of a leg but Seregeily is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Hawk persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Seregeily is on top in guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hawk controls Seregeily momentarily but Seregeily frees himself.
Seregeily wants to pass the guard but Hawk is keeping the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mario Hawk showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!



Hawk shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Seregeily holds on and takes a little breather.
Seregeily not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Hawk trying to control the position from guard on top but Seregeily is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Mario Hawk hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Hawk gets the takedown into side control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Hawk working the head with strikes.
Hawk controlling from side mount.
Hawk tries to advance to mount but can't.
Hawk is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Seregeily's shoulder. That is not cool.

Seregeily is looking to reverse the position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Seregeily manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Seregeily tries to roll over but Hawk keeps him under control.
Hawk thows a huge punch but Seregeily dodges it nicely.
Hawk is keen to just control but Seregeily is a slippery customer.
Viktor Seregeily has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Hawk tries to pass to full mount but Seregeily defends it.

And that's the end of the fight!
Mario Hawk comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hawk has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
