Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fedor Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Iosif Kirill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Emelianenko comes into the arena with Казаки - Ой Да blaring out of the sound system. Kirill has chosen Freur Frei as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fedor Emelianenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Iosif Kirill!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kirill tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Emelianenko paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Kirill fails with an attempt to clinch.
Kirill wants to clinch.

Kirill lands a left and a right that sends Emelianenko crashing to the canvas! Kirill dives into mount looking to finish!


Emelianenko is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kirill with a couple of short strikes.
Oh Emelianenko is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Emelianenko sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Emelianenko seems to have got his legs back now.
Emelianenko is staying active underneath Kirill, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Kirill perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Kirill not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Kirill landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Kirill looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Kirill has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Emelianenko tries to get to full guard but Kirill has control of the leg.

Kirill frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Kirill throwing strikes but Emelianenko bucks up and reverses the position. He's now in guard on top.

Kirill is staying active underneath Emelianenko, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Emelianenko is just content to waste time from the top position. Kirill takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Emelianenko postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kirill is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Emelianenko, into his guard.
Kirill postures up and lands a big shot to Emelianenko's brow.
Emelianenko is looking to sweep but instead, Kirill has passed into half guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Kirill is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Kirill lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Emelianenko hang on?

Kirill jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Emelianenko is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Emelianenko and Kirill has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kirill connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Emelianenko some visible discomfort.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Emelianenko is refusing to be controlled, as Kirill sits in half guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Kirill thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Iosif Kirill dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


The fight stays on the outside here - Kirill looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Kirill tries to close the distance and clinch but Emelianenko swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Kirill avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Emelianenko throws a poor cross that misses
and Kirill counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Kirill gets a clinch.
Kirill misses with a hook to the ribs.
Kirill misses with a body punch.
Kirill has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Emelianenko letting Kirill take a breather here.
Emelianenko has had enough of the clinch but Kirill keeps him there for the moment.
Kirill lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Kirill lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Emelianenko backwards.
Emelianenko has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Kirill breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Iosif Kirill seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Kirill throws a body punch but Emelianenko moves out of range.

Kirill moves into the clinch successfully.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Kirill turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Kirill manages to end up in side control.
Kirill scores with a couple of short elbows.
Emelianenko is trying to control Kirill's posture but Kirill avoids it.
Emelianenko parries the strikes from Kirill easily there. Kirill is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Emelianenko to escape.
Kirill is looking to take a break and control but Emelianenko is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Kirill misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Kirill cracks Emelianenko with a big right hand but Emelianenko just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Emelianenko is trying to improve his position.

Kirill scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Emelianenko is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Kirill can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
