The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mitrione keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Laxa Tiv seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tiv misses with a wild combination.
Tiv throws a head kick but Mitrione moves out of range.

Mitrione takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Tiv lands a left and a right that send Mitrione crashing to the mat, dazed. Tiv thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Matt Mitrione has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mitrione moves out of range of the body kick.
Tiv misses with an uppercut. Mitrione saw that one coming.
Tiv throws out a loose jab but Mitrione uses good head movement to avoid it.
Mitrione takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Mitrione shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mitrione trying to control but Tiv is working from the bottom.
Tiv keeping full guard, as Mitrione tries to pass.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tiv is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Mitrione wants to control from the top but Tiv keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Matt Mitrione wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Nice uppercut lands for Tiv. That snapped Mitrione's head back.
Mitrione shoots in for a double leg but Tiv sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Tiv scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Tiv lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Tiv lands a nice leg kick that just misses Mitrione's sensitive parts.
Mitrione is breathing heavily.

Mitrione is keeping his hands low and just asking to be knocked out. Tiv Raises his leg and lands a stunning axe kick! Mitrione is out cold, face down on the mat!
