Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paul Harris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Di Punker!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Matheus Silva and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harris lands a jab to Punker's midsection.

Harris tries to score with a low kick but Punker moves his leg out of the way.

and Punker counters with a takedown into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Punker goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Harris has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Punker but great work by Harris.

Harris wants to lay and pray for a moment but Punker keeps working.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Punker tries to improve position but can't.
Harris takes a little break here. Punker wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Harris wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Punker, who protects the arm well.

Harris is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Punker knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Punker is not content to let Harris control the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Punker manages to work his way to half guard, despite Harris's best efforts.
Punker is controlling Harris's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Harris tries to pass to full mount but Punker defends it.
Harris is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Punker wants to stand and escape but Harris is having none of it.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Harris defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Punker.
Punker fails to land with a series of punches.

Paul Harris is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Punker tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Harris swivels and escapes.

and Harris counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Harris.

Harris postures up in Punker's guard and throws a big left but Punker blocks it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Harris is trying to control. Punker wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Punker wants to get back to full guard.

Harris looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Paul Harris overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Harris is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Punker has managed to free his arm - good work.
Punker works his way to full guard. Good work.
Punker keeping moving, preventing Harris from controlling successfully.
Harris wants to pass the guard but Punker is keeping the position.
Harris is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Harris drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Harris jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Punker looking for a sweep. Not yet Punker, not yet.

Punker escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Harris gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Punker has his foot on Harris's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Harris works his way back into a safe position though.
Punker is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Harris lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Harris is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
