The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gold closes the distance and clinches.
Gold tries to circle away but Elliott has him pinned against the cage.

Elliott manages to break the clinch.

Gold changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Elliott looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Elliott manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Elliott is keen to just control but Gold is a slippery customer.
Gold knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Elliott on the ground.

Elliott decides to stand up.

Elliott has Gold up against the cage in a clinch.

Elliott pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Gold tries to clinch up but Elliott circles away and keeps his distance.
Gold blocks a head kick by Elliott.
Gold throws a jab when Elliott was well out of range.

Elliott breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Elliott shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Gold sprawls well. Gold wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Elliott gets slowly back to his feet.
OH! Elliott has been rocked by a huge right hand and is in deep trouble! Gold smells blood and charges in for the finish! Gold unloads a vicious overhand right and connects to the jaw of Elliott sending him face first to the canvas! Unbelievable!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Al Gold!
A relieved looking Al Gold thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
