The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stiener tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Maxwell counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Stiener shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Maxwell sprawls well. Maxwell wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Stiener gets slowly back to his feet.
Maxwell throws a lazy head kick
and Stiener counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Don Stiener seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Maxwell moves away from the strike by Stiener.

Maxwell gets through Stiener's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Stiener. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Stiener closes the distance and clinches up with Maxwell, looking for a takedown. Stiener pushes Maxwell against the cage but Maxwell circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Maxwell has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
