PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hy Wiener (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Warm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wiener kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Fok Julle Naaiers. Warm is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Walk like an Egyptian. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wiener swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Warm fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Wiener sprawls well initially but Warm persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Warm seems to be working for a kimura but Wiener defends the submission attempt.
Warm takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Warm trying to mount his opponent but Wiener defends it.
Warm misses with a head shot. Wiener uses the momentum to regain guard.
Wiener is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Wiener thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Wiener seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Warm does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Warm has his foot on Wiener's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wiener works his way back into a safe position though.

Warm had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Wiener defends it easily.

Warm is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Wiener working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Warm doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Warm manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Wiener bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Warm's guard.
Warm has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Warm is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Wiener is aware though and is defending well.

Warm is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Warm stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Wiener has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Warm manages to get his head free but now Wiener has transitioned to an armbar! Warm grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Wiener! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
