PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Fish Nak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wandy Claus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nak kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Skillet - Hero ( Undisputed ). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fish Nak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Wandy Claus!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Matheus Silva and Mauricio Rocha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Claus gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Claus is trying to keep Nak in close.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nak pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Claus is keeping the position for now.

Claus working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nak doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Nak manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Claus is looking for a triangle but Nak pushes his legs off easily.
Nak wants to pass the guard but Claus is keeping the position.

Nak got a little sloppy there for a moment and Claus has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Nak has managed to get both his arms back between Claus's legs - danger averted.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nak won't allow Claus to sweep him here.

Claus is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Claus working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Nak has passed into half guard!
Claus is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Nak's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Nak's back!
Nak is in bad spot here.
Claus is punishing Nak with strikes - can he finish him?!
Oooh a big shot gets through from Claus. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
Claus lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Nak tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nak keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Claus has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Nak's face.

Claus is landing with some decent strikes but Nak is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Nak sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Nak wants to get back to full guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Claus lands a nice short elbow.
Claus lands strikes from half guard.
Claus drops an elbow to the side of Nak's head.
Nak is looking to escape.
Nak is trying to get back to full guard.
Ground and pound from Claus.
Claus looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Nak with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Oh Nak is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Claus seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Nak moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Claus not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Claus arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Nak's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
