PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sick Jacken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lyoto Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Machida has chosen the dragon as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Sick Jacken looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sick Jacken!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lyoto Machida!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Daniel Cesar and Paulo Santos.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jacken.
Jacken misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Jacken fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sick Jacken. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jacken tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Machida paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Jacken misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Jacken is breathing heavily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jacken tries to close the distance and clinch up but Machida swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Jacken shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Machida as he jumps to the side.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Horrible takedown by Jacken or perhaps it was just good defense by Machida which made him look bad.

Machida feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Machida decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Machida gets the takedown into side control.
Machida tries to move to mount but Jacken blocks the move with his legs.
Machida in side control lands a decent elbow.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Machida has an Americana. Jacken didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Machida is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Machida hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
