Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Allan Edgar Poe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aiden McIlvey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Allan Edgar Poe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Aiden McIlvey!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Poe misses.
Poe fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McIlvey manages to avoid it.
McIlvey uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Poe.
Poe could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Poe cracks McIlvey with a right hand to the side of the head.

McIlvey rushes Poe and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Poe has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

McIlvey breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
McIlvey fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
McIlvey is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Poe.
Poe misses with a wild combination.
Poe scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Poe fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Poe swings and misses with a hook to the body.
McIlvey misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Poe looks to score with a jab to the body but McIlvey is just out of range.

Poe punishes McIlvey's body with a nice straight punch.
Poe looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
McIlvey takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
McIlvey takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
A telegraphed right hand from Poe misses the target.
McIlvey shoots in looking for a takedown but Poe manages to keep the fight standing, pushing McIlvey's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Allan Edgar Poe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aiden McIlvey.
Poe's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Poe duly obliges.

Poe connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Poe throws a series of punches but McIlvey moves out of range.
Poe is breathing heavily.
McIlvey looks for a takedown but Poe sprawls well.

Poe lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

McIlvey clinches.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Poe wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

McIlvey pulls guard successfully.
Poe has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
McIlvey pulls Poe in to control the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Aiden McIlvey was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Poe lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McIlvey circles away quickly and effectively.
McIlvey looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Poe defends well against a solid takedown attempt from McIlvey.
A jab from Poe does it's job there.

McIlvey takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Poe stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Poe wants it to stay on the feet.
Allan Edgar Poe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Poe catches McIlvey with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Poe just misses with a punch to the body.

McIlvey throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Poe was covering up waiting for the punch and McIlvey finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Poe has momentary wrist control but McIlvey slips an elbow through the middle.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Poe is working an open guard so McIlvey takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
McIlvey fails with a takedown attempt.
Some wild striking there from Poe.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Allan Edgar Poe will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Poe connects with a body shot.
Poe uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Poe gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows McIlvey to score an easy takedown into full guard.
McIlvey is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
McIlvey with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
McIlvey sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Poe's guard.
McIlvey slips a nice elbow through Poe's hands, connecting with Poe's forehead.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Poe is trying to defend against the ground and pound but McIlvey scores with a couple of nice shots.

McIlvey escapes and gets back to his feet.
McIlvey shoots in looking for a takedown. Poe tries to sprawl out of it but McIlvey keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Poe manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
McIlvey tries for a takedown but Poe sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

McIlvey has closed the distance and engaged Poe in a clinch.
Poe gets underhooks to prevent McIlvey's takedown attempt.
Allan Edgar Poe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aiden McIlvey.

Poe feints a jab promting McIlvey to slip. Poe then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. McIlvey slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Poe connects with a crisp jab.
Poe defends well against a solid takedown attempt from McIlvey.
Poe lands the left hand.
McIlvey shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Poe but Poe pushes him off and we're back to square one.

McIlvey has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

McIlvey clinches up with Poe and pushes him back against the cage.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Aiden McIlvey showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Poe will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The fighters circle momentarily. Poe darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Poe throws a combination. McIlvey tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Allan Edgar Poe is winning the standup battle so far.
McIlvey is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Poe.

McIlvey gets a clinch.
McIlvey landing knees to the body.
Poe is trying to push McIlvey away but McIlvey has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

McIlvey decides to pull guard.
McIlvey has control of Poe's left arm, preventing Poe from doing any damage.

McIlvey pushes a forearm under Poe's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Poe is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Aiden McIlvey!
