Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Shiba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Panthera Leo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Leo has chosen Ona Tańczy Dla Mnie - Weekend as his entrance music. John Shiba has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leo on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Shiba connects with a good right hand that stumbles Leo. Leo circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Leo feints and as Shiba raises his hands in defense, Leo changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Shiba wants to sweep but no luck.

Shiba has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Leo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Shiba will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Leo looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Shiba with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Panthera Leo is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Panthera Leo was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Let's hope that Leo has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Shiba fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Leo has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Shiba cracks a nice hook into Leo's ribs.
Leo drops his hands momentarily and Shiba takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Shiba scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Shiba pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Leo back to the cage. Shiba follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
A jab from Shiba finds it's way through Leo's defenses.
Leo on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

John Shiba is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Leo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Shiba's waist but Shiba gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Leo off to one side.
John Shiba has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Panthera Leo.
