PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Adrian Shota (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zach Trinkle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shota's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Must be the Feeling. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Adrian Shota!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Zach Trinkle!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shota cracks Trinkle with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Trinkle shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Shota is trying to defend but Trinkle finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Shota is trying to stand.
Shota taking some punishment here, with Trinkle in his half guard.
Shota wants to improve his position but Trinkle is controlling well.
Trinkle not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Trinkle really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shota. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Shota is trying to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Trinkle stalling.
Shota misses with some strikes from the bottom.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Shota wants to get back to his feet.

Trinkle is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Shota wants to improve his position but Trinkle is controlling well.
Shota keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Trinkle perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Shota might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Shota is looking to improve his position.
Trinkle trying to control from half guard but Shota is working away.

Shota is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Trinkle pulls his head out easily.
Shota looks like he's trying to stand up.
Trinkle prevents Shota from improving his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Shota is looking to escape.
Trinkle tries to pass the half guard into mount. Shota knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Shota is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Trinkle pulls his head out easily.
Trinkle controlling the pace.

Shota looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Trinkle wants to stand up but Shota has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Trinkle prevents Shota from standing back up.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Shota is trying to maintain the position but Trinkle is very close to passing his half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Trinkle stalling.
Shota is trying to stand back up but Trinkle is controlling him
Trinkle trying to pass the guard but Shota defending well.
Shota is staying active underneath Trinkle, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Trinkle looks winded!

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Zach Trinkle wasn't active enough on the ground.
Trinkle keeps the fight on the outside.
Shota tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Shota scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Shota connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Trinkle momentarily.
Trinkle swats away the attempt to clinch by Shota.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Shota moves to clinch but Trinkle breaks away

and Trinkle counters by clinching up.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Trinkle prevents Shota from breaking the clinch.
Shota is trying to break the clinch but Trinkle has him pressed against the cage.
Shota trying to stall but Trinkle improves his position.

Trinkle manages to break the clinch.

Shota lands a big uppercut and Trinkle crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Trinkle looks OK. Shota waves Trinkle back to his feet!


Trinkle is rocked!

Shota rushes Trinkle and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Trinkle is still on wobbly legs! Can Shota finish him?

Trinkle is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Shota can't fight it off and eventually Trinkle manages to take the fight to the floor. Shota looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Trinkle must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Shota looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Trinkle seems to have recovered his senses.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Shota looking for a guillotine here but Trinkle defends easily.

Shota is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Trinkle defends well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Adrian Shota dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


and Shota counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Trinkle! He's just covering up as Shota starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Adrian Shota!
An out of breath Adrian Shota thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
