PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shannon Boxer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bjj Dummy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Shannon Boxer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bjj Dummy!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Skip Squint and Steve Erwin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dummy throws a low kick but it's checked well by Boxer.
Boxer misses with a low kick as Dummy jumps back.
Boxer listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Dummy throws a chopping leg kick but Boxer manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Boxer throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dummy's waist but Dummy gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Boxer off to one side.
Boxer shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Dummy counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Dummy.

Boxer is working an open guard so Dummy takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dummy takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Dummy shoots in and bounces Boxer off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Dummy won't allow Boxer to sweep him here.
Dummy is pushing down on Boxer's leg trying to pass to half guard. Boxer is fighting to maintain full guard but Dummy has managed to sneak the leg through.
Dummy content to control rather than advance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dummy gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Boxer feints a jab promting Dummy to slip. Boxer then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Dummy slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Boxer fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shannon Boxer. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Boxer throws a sloppy head kick and Dummy moves out of range easily.
Dummy shoots in looking for a takedown. Boxer tries to sprawl out of it but Dummy keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Boxer manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Boxer has closed the distance and engaged Dummy in a clinch.

Boxer lands a nice elbow.
The referee is keeping an eye on Boxer - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Dummy tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Boxer smiles and moves away.

Dummy decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Boxer flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Bjj Dummy has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
No luck for Boxer with that takedown attempt.
Boxer is trying hard to land a takedown here. Dummy sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Dummy shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Boxer napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Boxer is trying to control Dummy's posture but Dummy avoids it.
Dummy staying calm.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dummy has hold of Boxer's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Boxer seems comfortable defending it but Dummy has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Boxer is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Boxer is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Dummy couldn't care less - he's delighted!
