Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Leo Mattsson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Corey Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Steve Montenegro and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith pushes Mattsson up against the cage in a clinch.
Smith breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Smith tries to keep at a distance but Mattsson has taken the fight into the clinch.
Mattsson tries a knee to the head but Smith blocks it.
Smith escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Smith scores with a takedown into Mattsson's guard.
Smith is looking to stand up but Mattsson won't let him.
Smith is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Smith chips away with some ground and pound.

Mattsson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Smith doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Smith manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Mattsson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Smith controls the pace.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Corey Smith wasn't active enough on the ground.
Smith shoots in for a takedown but Mattsson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Mattsson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Smith gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Mattsson is trying to control the position but Smith postures up.
Smith controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Corey Smith.
Mattsson misses with a head kick.
Smith throws a series of punches but Mattsson avoids them all with ease.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Smith has closed the distance and engaged Mattsson in a clinch.
Smith is trying to trip Mattsson. He has hold of a leg but Mattsson is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Smith persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mattsson lands with a nice combination. Smith backs away looking to recover.

Smith tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Mattsson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Mattsson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Smith pinned against the cage. Smith gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Mattsson tries to clinch up but Smith circles away and keeps his distance.
Smith dives in and grabs Mattsson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mattsson pushes down on Smith's head and hops out.

Mattsson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Smith avoids it really well and circles away.

Leo Mattsson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Corey Smith.

No joy there for Smith, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Mattsson shoots in for a takedown but Smith shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Mattsson throws a sloppy head kick and Smith moves out of range easily.

and Smith counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Smith looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Corey Smith showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Smith shoots in and bounces Mattsson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Mattsson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Smith defends well.

Mattsson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Smith tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Mattsson is in Smith's guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Smith looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Mattsson!

Mattsson is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Smith has just dragged him back down to the mat.
