Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matt Ryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trey Smith Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Matt Ryan has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Matt Ryan seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith Jr is looking to clinch but Ryan is avoiding it.
Smith Jr stuffs the takedown.
Ryan shoots for a takedown but Smith Jr saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Smith Jr tries for a takedown but Ryan sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Ryan shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Smith Jr sprawls well. Smith Jr wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ryan gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Ryan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Smith Jr throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ryan's waist but Ryan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Smith Jr off to one side.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Smith Jr throws a strike but Ryan avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Smith Jr wants to pass the guard but Ryan is keeping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Trey Smith Jr has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Ryan shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Smith Jr defends it nicely.

Ryan is refusing to be controlled, as Smith Jr sits in half guard.
Smith Jr is looking for a kimura but Ryan is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Smith Jr to get the leverage.

Smith Jr is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ryan doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Smith Jr.
Smith Jr seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Smith Jr maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Ryan could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Smith Jr has cracked it and Ryan is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Smith Jr!
