Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alex Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Dunne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steel comes to the cage accompanied by Ain't No Sunshine. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alex Steel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jay Dunne!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Ian Loll and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steel scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Steel lands with a right hand.


It looks like Jay Dunne has been cut.
Nice sprawl there from Dunne as Steel shoots in.
Steel throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Steel swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Alex Steel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dunne tries to clinch but Steel moves out of range.
Dunne throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Steel scores with a nice strike.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dunne shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Steel as he jumps to the side.
Steel shoots in looking for a takedown. Dunne tries to sprawl out of it but Steel keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dunne manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Dunne tries to close the distance and clinch but Steel swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Dunne with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Steel to score with a decent uppercut.
Dunne throws a body punch but Steel moves out of range.
Both fighters circle each other, looking for something big. Steel moves in and throws an overhand right. That hurt Dunne! Steel continues to tee off on Dunne, landing with a left and a right! Steel connects with a right hand that leaves Dunne sleeping against the cage! What a finish by Steel!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Alex Steel!
Alex Steel very nearly forgot to thank Backyard Fighting amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
