PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Dias (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Apollo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Apollo clinches up with Dias and pushes him back against the cage.

Apollo gets control of Dias's arms and successfully pulls guard. Apollo will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Apollo lands with a heel strike from the guard.
Dias throws a big right hand that misses.
Apollo is trying to control the position but Dias postures up.
Dias trying to control the position from guard on top but Apollo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Dias stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Apollo swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Dias stops Apollo from standing up.
Apollo is trying to keep Dias in close.
Apollo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dias is one step ahead there.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Dias wants to clinch.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Dias.

Apollo clinches up with Dias and pushes him back against the cage.

Apollo is trying to trip Dias. He has hold of a leg but Dias is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Apollo persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Dias is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Apollo throws a sloppy strike and Dias has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Apollo is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Dias!
