Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rainer Varvaskoukku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Katsu Higashikuni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

With a record of 19 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Katsu Higashikuni!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Varvaskoukku decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Varvaskoukku cracks Higashikuni with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Higashikuni slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Higashikuni is still in real trouble! Can Varvaskoukku finish him?
Higashikuni is pressing down on Varvaskoukku's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Higashikuni seems to have recovered his senses.

Varvaskoukku drops back looking for a leg! Higashikuni is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Higashikuni manages to kick Varvaskoukku off! Varvaskoukku jumps back into Higashikuni's guard.
Higashikuni is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Varvaskoukku is sitting in close to Higashikuni's body. Higashikuni has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Varvaskoukku is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Varvaskoukku is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Higashikuni.
