Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hugh Jontop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dale Fernhart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hugh Jontop!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dale Fernhart!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Winston Howard and Eliza Hachem.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fernhart gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Jontop throws the kick towards the body but Fernhart avoids it.
Jontop throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Fernhart.
Jontop takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Fernhart leaves Jontop with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Fernhart tries to bum rush Jontop with a series of wild strikes but Jontop uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Fernhart shoots in and gets a takedown into Jontop's guard.
Fernhart seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Fernhart is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Jontop will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Let's hope that Fernhart has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Dale Fernhart has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Jontop lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Fernhart circles away quickly and effectively.
Fernhart throws a right and a left that both miss.
Fernhart lands a really nice looking cross but Jontop seems unphased.

It looks like Hugh Jontop has been cut.
Fernhart throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Jontop throws a series of punches but Fernhart moves out of range.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Fernhart fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jontop avoids it really well and circles away.
Fernhart throws a nice looking combination but Jontop bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Fernhart shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jontop manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Fernhart slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Fernhart's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
It looks like Fernhart might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Fernhart scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Jontop to see if he's OK.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Fernhart lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Jontop down.
Jontop is trying to escape the position but Fernhart is controlling the position.

Jontop sneaks out the side door and pushes Fernhart away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Jontop shoots in for a double leg but Fernhart sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Jontop rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Fernhart moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Fernhart wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Fernhart throws a sloppy head kick and Jontop moves out of range easily.
Fernhart goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Hugh Jontop is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jontop walks straight into a right hand from Fernhart - that's dropped him! Fernhart jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Jontop from any more punishment! Jontop complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
