Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Reggie Smack!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Varshik Gerich!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Igor Prikhodko and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gerich defending well as Smack loads up on a big left hand.
Gerich throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Smack misses with a looping right.
Gerich's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Smack connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Gerich scrambles back to his feet.
Smack tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Gerich wants to land a leg kick but Smack is out of range.
Smack lands a left and a right that send Gerich crashing to the mat, dazed. Smack thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Gerich is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Smack walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Gerich drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Smack swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Gerich's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Reggie Smack!
After winning the bout, Reggie Smack thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
