PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bast Piquette (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Smolder Stoner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Ian Loll and Dillan Fox.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Piquette displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Stoner.

Stoner shoots in and bounces Piquette off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Stoner postures up and lands a big shot to Piquette's brow.
Stoner is stalling in the full guard.
Stoner is working Piquette over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Piquette controls Stoner momentarily but Stoner frees himself.

Stoner is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Stoner stands up over Piquette, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Stoner postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Stoner chips away with some ground and pound.
Piquette not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Stoner is stalling in the full guard.
Stoner has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Let's hope that Stoner has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Smolder Stoner wasn't active enough on the ground.

Stoner closes the distance and pushes Piquette back into the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Stoner wants the takedown. Piquette is fighting it off but Stoner persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Piquette's guard against the cage.

Piquette has momentary wrist control but Stoner slips an elbow through the middle.
Stoner passes Piquette's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Piquette knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Stoner on the ground.

Piquette is bucking up trying to escape but Stoner cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Stoner is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Piquette can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Stoner has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Piquette's face.
Stoner cracks Piquette with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Stoner cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Stoner connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Piquette is rocked!

Stoner has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Piquette is forced to tap!
