PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hugo Oliveira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rafal Silnoreki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Oliveira has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Hugo Oliveira has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hugo Oliveira!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rafal Silnoreki!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Illya Tyunina and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silnoreki shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Silnoreki was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Oliveira looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Silnoreki feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Silnoreki can do anything to dispel that myth.
Silnoreki thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Silnoreki seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Oliveira might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Oliveira stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Silnoreki swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Rafal Silnoreki has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Oliveira throws a front kick aimed at Silnoreki's knee but Silnoreki avoids it well.

Oliveira is working to avoid the ground and pound but Silnoreki connects with a decent elbow.

Rafal Silnoreki is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well Silnoreki has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
