The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Ulrich is trying to maintain the position but Lupu is very close to passing his half guard.
Lupu is nestled in close to Ulrich, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lupu throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ulrich was covering up waiting for the punch and Lupu finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Lupu maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Ulrich could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Lupu has cracked it and Ulrich is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Lupu!
