Hector Linhares has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Wei Sun's chin.

With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hector Linhares!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sun checks the leg kick.
Nice uppercut lands for Linhares. That snapped Sun's head back.
Sun moves to clinch but Linhares breaks away
and Linhares counters with a stiff right hand.

A nice left hand lands by Sun.
Sun lands an elbow inside that Linhares shrugs off.
Linhares can't break the clinch.
Sun is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Linhares throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Sun takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Sun uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Linhares.
Linhares works over Sun's head and body with a nice combination.
Sun tries to clinch up but Linhares circles away and keeps his distance.

Wei Sun is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Sun connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Sun cracks Linhares with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Wei Sun will probably get the nod.

Linhares throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Sun moves in looking to clinch but Linhares pushes him off.
Linhares pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Linhares misses with a series of wild punches.
Linhares throws a good cross that connects.
Sun tries to close the distance and clinch up but Linhares swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Linhares has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Linhares smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Sun throws a body punch but Linhares moves out of range.
Sun tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Linhares counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Sun managing to control the position.
Sun is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Linhares must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Linhares stops Sun from standing up.

Linhares loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Sun avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Sun managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Linhares.
Linhares tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Linhares throws an elbow but Sun slips to the side and avoids it well.
Sloppy strikes there by Linhares.
Sun is pushing Linhares's head away, looking to escape. Linhares manages to hold on to the position though.

Sun avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Linhares.
Linhares wants to control but Sun is keeping him busy.
Sun sneaks back into half guard.

Linhares is trying for a kimura here. Sun looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Linhares wins by kimura!
