Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Henkka Reem!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Martin Caradagian!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Colin Fray and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Caradagian misses with a takedown attempt
and Reem cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Caradagian doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Reem counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Reem cracks Caradagian with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Reem lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Reem throws a leg kick but Caradagian sees it coming and moves out of range.
Caradagian doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Reem counters with a nice uppercut.


It looks like Martin Caradagian has been cut.
Henkka Reem has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Martin Caradagian.

and Reem connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Caradagian walks into a left hand.

Reem fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Caradagian on the side of the head.

and Reem counters with a nice double leg into side control. Caradagian won't be happy with that.

Reem looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Reem tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Caradagian is looking to reverse the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Reem tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Reem has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Reem thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Reem looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Caradagian is avoiding damage well.
Caradagian is looking to regain half guard here but Reem keeps moving and retains side control.
Reem tries to move into full mount but can't pass Caradagian's legs.

Reem is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Caradagian looks calm but he's in trouble here. Reem gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Caradagian is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Reem lets go of the hold and Caradagian can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Henkka Reem!
