Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Pepe LePew (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dresden Carmichael (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). LePew comes to the cage accompanied by Smoke Serpent- . Carmichael has chosen Nelly - Just A Dream as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pepe LePew!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dresden Carmichael!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, William Peck and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carmichael paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Carmichael bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Carmichael misses with an uppercut. LePew saw that one coming.
LePew is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Carmichael thuds his right hand into LePew's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Carmichael pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Some wild striking there from Carmichael.
LePew with a lazy takedown attempt
and Carmichael counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Carmichael misses with a looping left.
LePew displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Carmichael throws out the jab.

Carmichael throws an overhand right that lands on LePew's shoulder, as LePew tries to avoid the shot.
LePew on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

Carmichael closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming LePew to the mat! LePew manages to get full guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

LePew is looking for a triangle here but Carmichael uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Carmichael is looking to take a break and control but LePew is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
LePew prevents Carmichael from moving into mount.

Carmichael takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Carmichael can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as LePew is looking to escape.
LePew really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Carmichael takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Carmichael trying to control but he's not successful this time.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Dresden Carmichael hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
LePew shoots for a takedown but Carmichael saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Carmichael thumps LePew with a low kick.
LePew looks for a takedown but Carmichael sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pepe LePew. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Carmichael connects with the punch.
Nice uppercut lands for Carmichael. That snapped LePew's head back.
LePew uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Carmichael.
LePew throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Carmichael ducks down and throws a hook to the body but LePew moves away.

Carmichael throws a front kick that sends LePew stumbling back into the cage.
LePew sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
LePew pulls out of a head kick attempt.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
LePew steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Carmichael.
LePew bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

LePew uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Carmichael.
Carmichael thuds a left hand into LePew's body.
Carmichael lands a nice looking kick to the body. LePew takes a step back to recover.
Carmichael throws out a loose jab but LePew uses good head movement to avoid it.

Carmichael drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

LePew has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Carmichael is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for LePew.
A lull in the action here as Carmichael stalls from top position.

Carmichael wants to lay and pray for a moment but LePew keeps working.
You can see the frustration on LePew's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
LePew manages to get back to half guard.
LePew wants to get back to full guard but Carmichael has mounted him!
Carmichael can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as LePew is looking to escape.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
LePew is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Carmichael working the ground and pound effectively.

Carmichael seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but LePew does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Dresden Carmichael has got the better of the ground game so far.

Dresden Carmichael showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Carmichael lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.


LePew is rocked!
LePew fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Carmichael has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
LePew shoots in looking for a takedown but Carmichael manages to keep the fight standing, pushing LePew's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Dresden Carmichael seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carmichael looks to land a body kick but LePew moved away.
Carmichael lands with a good body shot.
LePew is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Carmichael cracks LePew with a right hand to the side of the head.

Carmichael drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

LePew escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Carmichael gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
LePew looking for a sweep. Not yet LePew, not yet.
Carmichael must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

LePew has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Carmichael can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Carmichael seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now LePew is on top in guard.
Carmichael looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Carmichael pushes LePew off and gets back to his feet.

LePew moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Carmichael connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Carmichael misses with a kick to the body.
Dresden Carmichael is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
LePew avoids the body shot from Carmichael.
Carmichael throws a body punch but LePew moves out of range.
A decent looking cross lands there for Carmichael.
Carmichael keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Pepe LePew is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Carmichael fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Carmichael lands a nice looking kick to the body. LePew takes a step back to recover.
Carmichael tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but LePew was well out of range. Poor timing from Carmichael.
Pepe LePew has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
A lazy left from Carmichael finds it's target.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
LePew moves out of range of the body kick.
Carmichael connects with a leg kick. LePew looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Dresden Carmichael comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Carmichael has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
