Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brynden Tully!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Yokozuna Asashoryu!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Yves DeLean and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Asashoryu scores with a body shot.
Asashoryu misses with a jab to the body

and Tully counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Tully.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Tully trying to control but Asashoryu is working from the bottom.
Asashoryu looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Asashoryu is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Asashoryu is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Tully wants to control from the top but Asashoryu keeps moving.

Asashoryu is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Tully is controlling him.
Tully stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Asashoryu swivels though and keeps the full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tully accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Asashoryu wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Tully manages to pass to side control.

Asashoryu is trying to stand.
Asashoryu makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Asashoryu.
Tully might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Tully is really struggling to control Asashoryu but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Tully throws a strike but Asashoryu rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Asashoryu controls Tully momentarily but Tully frees himself.

Tully thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Asashoryu's head.

Asashoryu wants to sweep but Tully has passed to side control!
Asashoryu can't do much from the bottom here.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Tully goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Asashoryu rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Tully's guard! Nice work there by Asashoryu!

Asashoryu wants to stand and escape but instead Tully has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Asashoryu is looking to improve his position.

Tully is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Asashoryu has managed to free his arm - good work.
Asashoryu is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Tully jumps into side control!
Asashoryu is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Asashoryu is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Tully is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Tully lands a big shot there that rocks Asashoryu but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Asashoryu tries to hold on but Tully postures up.
Asashoryu is desperately trying to improve his position but Tully has a good base and remains in mount.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Asashoryu's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Tully looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Asashoryu tries a head kick but it misses.

It looks like Brynden Tully has been cut.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Asashoryu has his feet on Tully's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Asashoryu cracks Tully with a right hand to the side of the head.

Asashoryu throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Asashoryu lands a glancing blow to the side of Tully's head.
Tully takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Yokozuna Asashoryu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Asashoryu throws a low kick, looking for Tully's leg but Tully calmly moves out of range.
Asashoryu misses with a head kick.

Tully shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Asashoryu is breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tully wants to take a breather but Asashoryu is having none of it.

Tully wants to work for an arm triangle but Asashoryu is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Tully is thwarting Asashoryu's attempts to control the position.

Tully tries to pass to full mount but Asashoryu defends it.
Tully throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Tully cracks Asashoryu with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Asashoryu is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Tully landing shots from mount.
Tully trying to control but Asashoryu is having none of it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Tully looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Tully avoids the attempt from Asashoryu to control.
Asashoryu might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Tully haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The referee warns Asashoryu that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Tully has control of Asashoryu's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Asashoryu regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Asashoryu is working to get back to half guard.

Tully looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Asashoryu sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Tully takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Asashoryu manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Tully weaves into range and cracks Asashoryu right on the temple with a beautiful overhand right! Asashoryu goes down! He's out cold! Wow, what a beautiful knockout! Tully is strutting round the canvas like a movie star as the camera bulbs flash frantically.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 7:16 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Brynden Tully!
Brynden Tully decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
