The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Bruno Hogan and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doorman slaps away a takedown attempt from Smash, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Doorman pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Smash fails with a takedown attempt.
Doorman connects with a leg kick. Smash looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Doorman lands with a hook. Smash tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Smash takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Doorman connects with a body shot.
Smash throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Doorman's waist but Doorman gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Smash off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hulk Smash. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Doorman throws a nice inside leg kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Smash has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Doorman.
Doorman plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
It looks like Hulk Smash has been cut.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Smash crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Doorman - the referee stops the clock and Smash gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Doorman. Smash manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Smash is breathing heavily.
Doorman misses with a jab, cross combination.
Smash shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Doorman counters with a stiff right hand.
Paul Doorman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Smash takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Doorman lands a jab-cross combination.
Doorman scores with a jab. Smash acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Doorman is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Doorman thuds a left hand into Smash's body.
Doorman scores with a body shot.
Paul Doorman is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Doorman lands a nice shot that snaps Smash's head back.
Smash takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Doorman lands a left and a right that send Smash crashing to the mat, dazed. Doorman thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Smash is rocked!
Doorman closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Smash! Doorman dives in looking to finish! Smash is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Paul Doorman!
Paul Doorman is the new light heavyweight champion!
Paul Doorman spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
