PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hjalmar Soderberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alejandro Zapata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zapata has chosen Tres Delinquentes as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hjalmar Soderberg!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alejandro Zapata!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Hirohito Nitta and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soderberg lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Zapata lands a body shot.

Zapata drives through with a takedown into Soderberg's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Let's hope that Zapata has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
