Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Greg Dixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nathaniel Dawkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Greg Dixon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nathaniel Dawkins!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dawkins slips a jab and a cross from Dixon.

Dixon instigates a clinch.

Dixon escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Dixon closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Dixon landing strikes.
Dixon misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Dixon is chipping away with strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dixon lands a few punches from side control.
Dawkins is not content to let Dixon control the position.
Dixon scores with punches from side control.
Dixon working the ground and pound but Dawkins is defending the strikes.

Dixon is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Dawkins knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Dixon is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Dawkins is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Dixon working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Dixon slips a nice elbow through Dawkins's hands, connecting with Dawkins's forehead.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Dixon tries to pass the half guard into mount. Dawkins knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Dawkins tries to kick Dixon off in order to stand up. Dixon Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Dawkins tries to bench press Dixon off him but Dixon keeps the position.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Dixon in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Dawkins is looking for a sweep.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Dawkins gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Dawkins trying to hold on to Dixon's head to control him but Dixon postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Dixon gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Dixon lands a nice elbow.

Dixon's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Dixon shoots in and gets a takedown into Dawkins's guard.
Dixon landing some decent shots from guard.
Dixon has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Dixon not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Dawkins is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Dixon throwing strikes from guard but Dawkins blocks nicely.
Dawkins is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Dawkins wants to stand up but Dixon is controlling him.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Nathaniel Dawkins.
Dixon looks to land a combination but Dawkins avoids it well.

Dixon clinches with his opponent.
Dawkins tries to break free but Dixon pushes him back against the cage.

Dixon has hold of one of Dawkins's legs. Dawkins is fighting the takedown attempt but Dixon gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Dawkins throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Dixon is looking to work some ground and pound but Dawkins has wrist control.

Dawkins has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dixon can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Dixon wants to get up but he can't break Dawkins's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Dixon gets to his feet. Dawkins looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Dixon misses with the combination.

Dixon gets a double leg takedown into Dawkins's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Dixon wants to control from the top but Dawkins keeps moving.
Dixon works over Dawkins with some ground and pound from guard.

Dixon stands up from Dawkins's guard - Dixon perhaps looking for a knockout.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Dixon dodges an elbow strike from Dawkins.

Dixon gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Dixon with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Dixon not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Dixon wants to control from the top but Dawkins keeps moving.

Dawkins is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Dawkins looking for a guillotine here but Dixon defends easily.
Dawkins is trying to control the position from the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Dawkins has momentary wrist control but Dixon slips an elbow through the middle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Dawkins fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Dawkins shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dixon as he jumps to the side.

Dixon closes the distance and clinches.

Dixon breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Horrible takedown by Dawkins or perhaps it was just good defense by Dixon which made him look bad.
Greg Dixon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nathaniel Dawkins.

and Dixon counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Well, if Dixon is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Dixon is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dawkins can do to turn this around?
Dawkins on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dawkins is staying active underneath Dixon, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Dixon is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Dixon is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Dawkins doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Dixon.
Dixon looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dawkins with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Dawkins is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Dixon scores with a couple of nice shots.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Dixon lands a nice short elbow.
Dixon seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Dixon thows a huge punch but Dawkins dodges it nicely.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dixon wants to stand but Dawkins has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Dixon connects with a nice short shot to Dawkins's temple.

Dawkins is trying to control but can't.

Dixon looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Dixon winds up and cracks Dawkins with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
