PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bob Sapp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hulk Hogan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hogan comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Hulkamania kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bob Sapp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hulk Hogan !
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sapp scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Hogan doesn't seem bothered though.
Sapp fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Sapp tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hogan manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Hogan swats away the attempt to clinch by Sapp.

Horrible takedown by Hogan or perhaps it was just good defense by Sapp which made him look bad.
Hogan shoots in for a takedown but Sapp shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Sapp misses with a two punch combination.
Sapp closes the distance looking to clinch
and Hogan counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Bob Sapp seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sapp shoots in and bounces Hogan off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Sapp won't allow Hogan to get back to his feet.
Sapp wants to stand and escape but instead Hogan has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Hogan drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Sapp manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hogan has Sapp in his guard.
Sapp content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Sapp tries to free his leg and advance position but Hogan is retaining full guard.
Sapp stands up over Hogan , holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Hogan wants to get back to his feet but Sapp is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sapp wants to control from the top but Hogan keeps moving.

Sapp wants to pass the guard but Hogan is keeping the position.

Hogan pushes Sapp off and scrambles back to his feet.

Hogan is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Sapp's half guard.

Hogan has gone for a leg lock! Sapp slips out almost immediately though and dives into Hogan 's guard.
Sapp stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hogan swivels though and keeps the full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hogan closes this distance looking for a takedown but Sapp circles away.
Sapp lands a really nice looking cross but Hogan seems unphased.

Sapp is looking to stand up but Hogan won't let him.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Bob Sapp has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Hogan closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Sapp is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hogan pulls his head out easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sapp is defending against the submission attempts here by Hogan .
Sapp missing with punches from the bottom.

Sapp wants to control but Hogan is keeping busy.

Sapp tries to stand up but Hogan grabs his leg and drags him down! Hogan is now on top, in side control.
Sapp regains half guard.
Sapp is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Hogan has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Sapp defend it? Hogan steps over the head and cranks it - Sapp is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Hogan !

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:26 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Hulk Hogan !
